It's interesting that in the US, we have heard nothing of this in mainstream news. This bold action by such a tiny impoverished country throws quite a wrench in the western spin machine, which has insisted repeatedly that there's nothing to be done, all while sendong additional weapons and money to Israel. We should be more like Yemen, and stand for what's fair and humane, but we bow to whatever political blackmail or enticement gives Israel such a hold on US leadership.

all this while Yemen's Houthis aren't even Sunni Muslim, when the people of Palestine are Sunni majority.

Yemeni are the stuff of legends, this restored a glimmer of hope in humanity for me. I’m an American and their courage should be admired by everyone but most likely won’t even go noticed bc of our horrendously biased news. Thank you for covering this story!

since hamas began the war knowing full well Israel would retaliate, massively, as they have to do, Hamas is responcible for the genocide of its own! -common sense!

Don't make this is a secular or sectarian issue. These are Arabs protecting Arabs. All Arabs should be aligned with Palestine but the leaders are spineless. If you cannot add nuanced or meaningful conversation please refrain from making such comments. It's a humanitarian and everyone with a soul should stand up with Yemen and Palestine.

F…. the world food bank. Let’s show Yemen our love! What is a reputable organization that we can all donate to support them with food? An organization that is none of the corrupt ngo’s please. I want my money to actually go to the people who need it.

Yemen, where true heroes are produced every hour. Courage is a necessity in Yemen. Despite secular differences, Houthis or no Houthis, these people love love their people. If Saudi Arabia funds itself in trouble, guess who's going to assist them? Yemenis, not Qatar, not UAE or any other GCC country.

The cowardice shown by the Arab world was hurting an still hurts.

Khalid, thanks for this article.
