Motaz shared the raw image of Gaza being murdered by the Israeli occupation forces. He risked his life to awaken the conscience of the world and he made a difference. The sentient people of the world responded to his work, to his call, and stand with Palestine. The hidden stories of the Palestinian struggle for survival, for life and dignity became known and his contribution will always be a primary source of information, a key reference for what happened and is still happening in Gaza. Gaza has become a turning point for humanity: there is the world before Gaza and the world after Gaza. Nothing will ever be the same again. Motaz and his colleagues have made enormous sacrifices so that the world could see their Land, their People, and the inhuman conditions to which they are subjected to by colonialism and apartheid and that is why no one can ever forget to say "Free Palestine!"

Beautiful tribute to a precious soul.... May the Almighty protect and preserve Brother Motaz and all the journalists who covered Gaza past 4 months, the likes of those we have never seen before. His name will forever be connected to the cause of the Palestinian people and the right side of history, and will be respected by those who see beyond the false narratives. I’d also like to add, that Motaz deserves to live like every single human being. Motaz does not need to explain to anyone why he left. It’s a f**king genocide so good on him for leaving. He gave it his ALL! How much more can one do. We don’t deserve him risking his life for us, or worse, dying, so we can see what’s happening there from the comfort of our warm sofas.
